With so many businesses and individuals trying to make an impact on social media, it is important to measure your social media activities and see if the results match up to what you are trying to achieve. Usually goals on social media differ from brand to brand and from business to business, so there is not really one way of measuring that can apply for everyone. In my personal opinion, and you can take that as tip, try to set your goals around sales and revenue. As we all know, likes and follows don’t show in the balance sheet.
Have a look at the infographic below from ExactTarget and see different ways to measure your social media activities on different platforms. Whatever your way of measuring is, you only get accurate results if you document your activities and then match them up with your results.
